The Men’s Serie D of AP Pallavolo Certaldo enters the playoffs to win Serie C after last Saturday’s victory in Torrita di Siena against Fides, a team immediately behind in the standings with just 2 points difference. In reality, just one point was enough to secure second place, but the Certaldini won 3:1, earning 3 points and demonstrating that they had something more on the pitch, as coach Luca Bocini also confirmed: “Especially at the end of the second set we were very more decisive and much more determined to close it even though we were a few points behind Torrita. It was seen that we have something more in terms of game organisation, but also on an individual level.” The next phase, the playoffs, will begin on April 27th, which will involve 4 teams, the first and second placed in the regular season of the two groups: for group A Norcineria Toscana di Foiano della Chiana and AP Pallavolo Certaldo, for group B Invicta Volleyball Emini Costruzioni of Grosseto and Dream Volley Pisa Migliarino. The first-placed teams will meet in a best-of-three round and the winning team will be promoted directly to Serie C. The second-placed teams from the two groups will meet in a best-of-three round: the winning team will face the loser of the first-placed teams and whoever wins will be promoted to Serie C.
The first coach continues: “Now another commitment awaits us: a week of recovery, especially mental, then we immediately begin a phase in which each match will be decisive because there are not many chances of making mistakes: the pressure continues even if we are now trained enough to handle it well !” The first appointment for phase 2 of the Serie D Men’s Regional Championship is on April 27th in which we will see the boys of AP Pallavolo Certaldo in the first leg of the playoffs against Dream Volley Pisa Migliarino. Coach Bocini comments on the opponents of the first round of the play offs: “Dream Volley is a very young and determined team made up of some of the players who won the Serie D championship last season with Migliarino; the Pisans are always an uncomfortable opponent to face but we will prepare ourselves as best we can to start off on the right foot in this one
