Tough position of the Biancoceleste club after the goal validated by Davis against Udinese: letter to president Simonelli to have a table with Aia and FIGC. But for Rocchi the referee Colombo is right

December 28 – 6.22pm – MILANO
Lazio furious with the refereeing class after Colombo’s direction on Saturday in Udine. In particular, for an unpunished handball on Davis in the action that led him to score the equalizer in the 50th minute of the second half. The Biancoceleste club has sent, according to what was released by Adnkronos, a harsh letter to the president of the Serie A League, Ezio Simonelli, and to the Federal Councilors of the Serie A squad, Giuseppe Marotta, Stefano Campoccia and Giorgio Chiellini, to officially ask for immediate intervention against the “continuous refereeing errors” to have a table with Aia and FIGC, to “undertake every initiative permitted to protect their rights, the economic damage suffered also in consideration of the status of the club listed, of sporting regularity and of the respect due to its fans”. Rocchi meanwhile promoted Colombo, agreeing with him on the decision taken in the disputed episode.

On Saturday evening, at the end of the match in Udine, the Biancoceleste club had already intervened with a statement after having set a press blackout for its members: “We continue to record with growing bitterness a series of errors always against us, repeated and difficult to understand. Lazio asks for respect, uniformity of judgment and greater attention”. Shortly after, Lotito’s club published a video on social media with all the refereeing incidents against Sarri’s team in this championship. A real dossier illustrated by the relevant images. We start from the penalty denied in Como (first day): Castellanos hit by Perrone. Then, McKennie’s missed second yellow card for a foul on Guendouzi in the match against Juventus (eighth matchday). So Pavlovic’s hands in the area were not sanctioned in the match at San Siro against Milan (thirteenth matchday). Also in the spotlight are the expulsions of Zaccagni and Basic in Parma (fifteenth matchday). Until penalties were not awarded against Cremonese (sixteenth matchday) for interventions against Castellanos and Noslin. With a final zoom on the hands of Davis who scored Udinese’s equalizer.
tensions

The arbitration issue has also sparked tensions within Lazio. At the end of Inter-Lazio on 9 November, starting from Manganiello’s direction, Sarri said: “Given that the referee had no impact on the result, Inter were stronger. But in this match there was confirmation that the level of Italian referees has become very low. Perhaps the time has come to consider the idea of hiring foreign referees for Serie A”. The following day the company issued a statement to support how it is “fundamental that the process of generational change in the referee class is supported with balance, enhancing the training and growth of young referees”. And a week ago, after the match against Cremonese, Sarri added: “I have nothing to say about the referee (Pairetto, ed.), the last time I spoke the club said the opposite in a statement… The episodes? The situation is so clear…”. Except for a new episode of damage that Lazio believes they also suffered in the away match against Udinese. And the wind of protest is blowing strongly on social media also through Lazio fans, convinced that behind everything there is “a plan” to penalize Sarri’s team.
