The number 2 born in 2000, after injuring his cruciate knee ligament in April, returned to the field last December 14th in the Champions Cup match against Bath Rugby.

After that match Toulon had released a statement according to which Lucchesi had had a small relapse (3-week stoppage) but precisely in those days, according to Rugby Ramathe 25-year-old would have signed a new agreement with the Rossoneri club.

The renewal of Gianmarco Lucchesi puts an end to the market rumors that Lucas Peyresblanques (Stade Francais) and Guillaume Cramont (Stade Toulousain) were vying to sign a contract with Toulon who instead chose the line of continuity.

Last season other players had extended their contracts with the club also led by Sergio Parisse and Andrea Masi: Teddy Baubigny, Pierre Damond, hookers like Lucchesi, until 2029 and 2027 respectively.
