Jessie Diggins confirms her candidacy as number one favorite to win the 2026 Tour de Ski. His is the first race of the new year in Dobbiaco: the 20 km pursuit with classic technique bears his name. After all, he already started with a 50 second advantage over the competition, and today’s victory was achieved in 52’14″8 without ever giving up, further increasing his advantage over the entire competition.

For second place it becomes a two-way fight between the Swede Moa Ilar and the Austrian Teresa Stadloberwhich end in this order at 1’35″2 and 1’35″5 respectively. The others are much further away, with a small group forming to try to count something in terms of fourth position (and Maja Dahlqvist losing ground from here too: after all we are not exactly talking about her ground, and the Swiss Nadine Faehndrich has a similar end).

In particular, from fourth to seventh place there is a lot of Finland with Jasmi Joensuu a 1’54″3, Johanna Matintalo at 1’55″5 e Kerttu Niskanen at 1’56″3. The Norwegian is the only one to slip into the middle Heidi Weng at 1’55”. The Swede was eighth Ebba Andersson at 1’58″9 ahead of the norge Julie Bjervig Drivenes at 2’09″2. The Swede completes the top ten Frida Karlsson a 2’50″5.

At home, Italy remains very close to the top ten Caterina Ganzwho remains for a long time with the hope of actually being able to achieve this goal. In the end she was thirteenth at 2’55″3. Further back the other blues, who started with the wave: Irises by Martin Pinter and 36th at 5’12″8, Anna Comarella 41a a 5’39″6, Martina Di Centa 47a at 7’01″7, Federica Cassol 49a 7’15″9, Nicole Monsorno 51a a 7’36″3, Francesca Franchi 63a a 11’03″7, Nadine Laurent 65th at 11’11″8. It should be noted that the second Tour de Ski did not start until yesterday, Astrid Oeyre Slind: the Norwegian was stopped by a sore throat.
