Good news on the gaming front Don’t be bald for two important sectors of the Italian economy, theagri-food and thefurniture. For the first, the United States Department of Commerce has disclosed – in advance of the conclusion of the investigation expected on March 11 – the assessments carried out in relation to anti-dumping duties on some Italian pasta brands. The upward revision was announced in recent months after reports from American companies competing with Italian ones (largely controlled, among other things, by Italian groups): well, the so-called post-preliminary analysis redetermined the rates provisionally set on 4 September to a significantly lower extent. In detail – the Farnesina announces – the duties go from 91.74% to 2.26% for Moliseat 13.98% per Garofalo (the two Italian companies identified for the September verification) and 9.09% for the other 11 non-sampled producers.
Furniture, tariff increase postponed to 2027
The revision of duties also affects another symbolic sector of the made in Italy: Donald Trump has in fact postponed the new tariff increases for a year upholstered furniture, kitchen furniture e bathroom furniturepostponing its implementation to 2027. The President of the United States signed the measure just hours before the end of 2025, postponing tariff increases on these items, which were originally supposed to take effect on January 1. In September, Trump imposed new 25% tariffs on kitchen cabinets and upholstered furniture. Those duties went into effect in October, with rates expected to increase to 50% and 30% respectively by 2026.
