An explosion occurred in the ski resort of Crans-Montana, Switzerland. Crans Montana is a historic ski area of Valaishas a skiable area that extends over 140 kilometres, 1/3 of which has artificial snow because the valley is very sunny. You ski from 1500 meters up to the glacier at 3000 metres. The view of the Imperial Crown is impressive, with the Weisshorn, the Zinalrothorn, the Obergabelhorn, the Matterhorn and the Dent-Blanche. From the top of Bellalui (2528 metres) you can see Mont Blanc and the Rhone Valley.
Many alpine skiing or freestyle competitions take place on its snow. The slopes are served by 27 ski lift installations with one chairlift carrying 2,400 passengers per hour.
