Florence, 31 December 2025 – Take theweather alert in Tuscany for the day of New Year’s.
According to the Functional center of the RegionThe temperatures widely below zero in Tuscany, even in the lowland areas, will make it possible in the morning to Thursday 1 January weak snowfall in the upper Valdarno, Casentino, Val Tiberina and Mugello, in particular in the eastern part. The risk of some snowflakes on the Florentine plain is not excluded.
For this reason, the Regional Civil Protection Operations Room has issued a criticality bulletin with a yellow code for the risk of snow in the eastern Apennine areas affected by rainfall, which will be in force from 8am to 8pm on January 1st.
Where it could snow in Tuscany, the situation
Possible accumulations of less than 5 centimeters are expected, locally higher than mountain levels. Progressive increase in snow level from the afternoon up to 800 metres. In the Siena and Grosseto areas, the snow level due to light snowfalls is expected to be higher, around 400-500 metres, rising further during the afternoon.

The risk of ice
