For the 4th year the PM Industries of Casale sul Sile hosted the Cross del Sile. This year the organization managed by Team Bike Santa Cristina has chosen to divide the event into two days. Yesterday the youth categories competed with an important innovation, the Team Relay, valid as the Triveneto championship. Participation was notable with the participation of 15 teams who put on a great show. Great satisfaction on the part of Renzo Pizzolato who was able, once again, to organize a high-level event.

Quick start for the Sanfiorese teamwho was able to put a significant gap on his opponents. But on the last lap the outcome of the race was reversed, thanks to a great comeback by Jam’s Bike Team Buja who overtook his opponents and was able to celebrate the success. Second position for Sanfiorese and third for Sorgente Pradipozzo.

The afternoon was dedicated to individual competitions. The rookies’ performance was characterized by the head-to-head between the Venetian Santiago Bembo (Gs Mosole) and the Paduan Luca Bacchin (Sanfiorese). In the final stages Santiago Bembo managed to distance himself from his opponent by a few meters and raise his arms to the sky. Third place for Francesco Barazzuol (Sanfiorese). In the women’s race, success for the Friulian Melissa Plaino who distanced her opponents in the first laps and then managed to manage the advantage. Behind him, Marika Russo (B-Team Cyclocross) and Carlotta Casarotti (Off. Alberti) took the 2nd and 3rd step of the podium respectively.

Among the 2nd year students, a show of strength by Leonardo Onida (Jam’s Bike). The athlete from Sardinia managed, on the opening lap, to take the lead of the race and maintain it until the finish line with a notable advantage over all his rivals. The podium was completed by Tommaso Nosella (Sanfiorese) and Luis Macas Jimenez (Libertas Laives).

In the competition reserved for 1st year students, the South Tyrolean won Emmanuele Gaspari (GS Alto Adige) with a good margin of advantage over Simone Dal Mas (San Vendemiano) and Federico Ursella (Jam’s Bike).

The Women’s Students competition proposed the solo of the tricolor Matilde Carretta (Gs Mosole). The second and third positions went to the Friulians Rebecca Anzisi (Jam’s Bike) and Nicole Trampus (Sorgente).

Today the Cross del Sile will host the amateur categories, the Juniores, the Open Women and the Open.
