Alpitronic in Bolzano on fire, airspace closed – News

In Bolzano, the entire Alpitronic factory, the world leader in charging stations for electric cars, in Via di Mezzo ai Piani, is on fire. The fire broke out in an area where renovation works are underway and quickly spread. There were no injuries or victims. The airspace over the city has been closed. The fire is now under control. The smoke column is now very small in size. To monitor the extinguishing works and to locate any new outbreaks, the firefighters used a drone which also immortalized the vastness of the fire.

The firefighters laid hoses towards the Isarco to pump water to put out the fire. Firefighters are fighting the fire from all sides with ladder trucks. To ensure a sufficient water supply, water is now also being drawn from the river.

“The only precaution to take is to keep the windows closed nearby. The Fire Brigade and technicians from the Environment Agency are on site.” This is what the Municipality of Bolzano communicates to ANSA. The South Tyrolean Civil Protection communicates that “in Bolzano due to a fire there are intense fumes. It is advisable to keep doors and windows closed and to turn off the air conditioning and ventilation systems”.
