Coincidences. Very indicative. Sign of great persuasive power. Power of a woman. Magistrate devoted to politics. And now alter ego of Nordio. It has been said. It has been written. It’s known. But if the background materializes and even becomes a constitutional law, then the news is there. And it must be registered.
This background to reveal who is of Giusi Bartolozzi – aka Tsarina for the great power she exercises over the Keeper of the Seals Nordio and on the entire Ministry of Justice – the idea of placing the High Court in the constitutional reform of justice. The one who should judge all the judges who make mistakes. To be clear, take the place of the current disciplinary section not only of the CSM of ordinary magistrates, but of the equivalent bodies of the other judiciaries. A super tribunal for robes of any kind who stumble upon a blunder, be it minor or very serious.
But it is not the High Court that interests us here, and that we want to talk about. But from Zarina Giusi. O Giusi, the Tsarina, as you like. Because there are two facts. The first is, precisely, the appearance of the High Court project in the constitutional reform. Until today, in this context, there was none. The second is that Giusi Bartolozzi himself, on 8 October 2020, during the last legislature, a Forza Italia deputy, deposited a constitutional bill. The proposal, two pages in total, has been dozing in the Chamber for all this time, while Bartolozzi’s life, the political one of course, was going by. Today Bartolozzi’s idea has instead arrived on the table of Palazzo Chigi. He entered with full rights and rights into the constitutional reform that will bear the name of Carlo Nordio. Bartolozzi, herself a magistrate, has been officially, and with the consecration of the CSM, Nordio’s chief of staff for a month. She was at his side from the first moments of his ministry. She was also there at Palazzo Chigi on Friday afternoon, during the now historic 40 minutes in which Prime Minister Meloni decided to formalize the presentation of the constitutional reform of justice before the vote for the European elections, and in the package of proposals there was also Bartolozzi’s High Court. Or perhaps it was there precisely because Bartolozzi is the head of cabinet in Via Arenula.
