A trail of blood ruins Christmas Day in the Bat. In a road accident that occurred around five in the morning today, Thursday 25 December, a young man aged just 18, Giuseppe Di Stasi, lost his life.
According to initial reconstructions, he was traveling in a car with two peers. The group was returning to San Ferdinando di Puglia after spending the evening before in Orta Nova.
For reasons still being investigated by the police, the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle, which ended up off the road.
The impact left Giuseppe no escape. Despite the timely intervention of the 118 staff, the resuscitation efforts unfortunately proved in vain.
A girl and a boy, both 18 years old and friends of the victim, were also involved in the accident. The two injured were urgently transported to the Foggia Polyclinic: the young woman suffered serious facial trauma. The boy suffered several thoraco-abdominal polytraumas. Both are currently under medical observation.
The news profoundly shook the entire community of San Ferdinando di Puglia. The mayor, Michele Lamacchia, expressed the pain of the citizens with words of deep emotion: “We are saddened by what happened: our community is experiencing a Christmas of suffering. We express our deepest condolences and our closeness to the family of the young victim.”
The mayor also announced that, on the occasion of the next city council meeting, a minute of silence will be observed to commemorate Giuseppe and rally around his loved ones in this moment of unimaginable pain.
