NaplesThe earthquake gives no respite. A very strong one shock woke up i Phlegraean Fields and the city of Naples today, April 27, at 5.44 am. According to initial findings, the magnitude is 3.9 degrees of the Richter scale, one of the highest since the beginning of the new bradyseismic crisis. The shallow depth of the event, just 2.95 kilometres, meant that the telluric waves spread across a large area of the territory, reaching areas and neighborhoods of the city of Naples where the tremors of Bredisism are not usually felt.
The jolt was of strong intensity and lasted a decidedly long time. It was felt in many areas of the city. The buzz on social media indicates that people have been woken up from the Campi Flegrei al Vomero to Posillipoup to the area of Old Town of Naples.
In the area closest to the epicentre, currently indicated in the Bacoli area, some people took to the streets, although for the moment no damage or injuries have been reported. To be precise, the earthquake occurred in the sea of gulf of Pozzuoli exactly opposite the old one Baia castle.
Starting from midnight, 21 tremors were counted, all of very low intensity, until the powerful tremor at dawn followed by further tiny earthquakes felt only by the instruments.
