The fast ship Procida Island departing from Capri it hit a quay at Beverello Pier in Naples during mooring operations. According to initial reports, there would be around thirty injured, 21 of whom were hospitalized in Neapolitan hospitals with maxillofacial trauma or injuries.

There were several hundred passengers on board, including many foreigners.
