The showman was the first guest on the Rai 3 afternoon program, for the April 13th episode. “I believe he will have an organizational role there”: Rosario Fiorello’s words on Amadeus and his future (away from Rai)
It airs on Rai 3 on Saturday 13 April TV Talk, the program – hosted by Massimo Bernardini – which analyzes the Italian television story on a weekly basis. The episode also addresses the “case” of Amadeus, the presenter who could soon leave Rai to move to channel Nove (Discovery Italia, Warner Bros. Discovery). A television story but also a political one. There has been a lot of talk about it, including rumors, news and denials. But let’s go back to TV Talk. The episode begins “bombastic” with Rosario Fiorello e his group in connection. In the studio, however, they are also there Claudia Rossi (responsible FQMagazine) and the professor Giorgio Simonelli. At a certain point the cardboard cutout of Amadeus appears, but the Rai 3 presenter takes his time. First we talk about Viva Rai 2! and of the success of the program hosted by Rosario Fiorello and then, of course, of Amadeus, a great friend of Fiorello.
The latter unbuttons himself, becoming serious: “I’ve read some things, since I know some, I can tell you. Ama made this choice (to move to Canale Nove, ed.). It’s just a lifestyle choice. There’s no conspiracy, there is no money or everything you read in the newspapers: at 60 years of age and older, he wants new stimuli. He gave everything to Rai, he is to be admired, I believe that there (on the Nove, ed.) it will also have an organizational role. He will have fun trying and testing formats himself,” says Fiorello. Speaking about himself, the showman adds: “Let’s clarify this thing: I’m not in Rai. Let me explain: I’m never from a company. I am free. My contract begins with the first episode of a program and ends with the last.”
So the joke in true Fiorello style: “On May 10th we will have the last episode, from the 11th I don’t know… I’m going to teleminch**“. Finally, looking back over his career, he concludes by thanking the team that works with him at Viva RaiPlay! and remembering Maurizio Costanzo: “He told me to do a quiz when he was director of Canale 5. Let’s prepare this quiz game, which came after a huge success of Paolo Bonolis, i.e. Pull & Spring. I take Bonolis’ place in that time slot. Fortunately, the program went very badly, but really badly. That was my ‘luck’. If it had gone very well, I would have done game shows all my life and therefore I wouldn’t have done a show with the audience in front, which is what I really like. Long live Maurizio!”.
