Two million views in a couple of hours for a post with two feet (in slippers) and the caption “Everything is fine!”. We are not on Only Fans, but on X and Erling Haaland’s message board. On the afternoon of Christmas Day, the Norwegian footballer published on social media a shot on the scales indicating a weight of 94.4 kg, perfectly in line with his 195 cm height. But why did he do it?
Because he is evidently calm about his Christmas excesses, about returning to training after four whole days off. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola last Saturday, after the victory over West Ham, had sent a categorical warning to his players: upon their return today, they would be subjected to strict weight checks, risking ending up on the bench for the Premier League match next Saturday, December 27, against Nottingham Forest.
Guardiola had explained that his men had been weighed: «Every player weighed in on Friday. They come back on the 25th and I will be there to check how many kilos they have gained, to see if they are fat. I want to see them in perfect condition despite the festive excesses. Imagine a player: he is perfect now, but he will arrive three kilos extra.” In that case «He will stay in Manchester. He will not travel to Nottingham.”
The Catalan coach also added: «They can eat, but I want to control them. The moment they arrive after three days off I want to see how they come back.” Haaland – also famous for an “atypical” 6,000 calorie diet also based on pieces of liver and heart and for the “small feasts” with ribs in the locker room – seems to have passed the test.
