Cascine Fair
Florence is preparing to welcome one of the most anticipated events of the post-Christmas period: the great “Shopping Cascine” event which, for the last time of the year, will transform the famous Parco delle Cascine into a lively open-air gallery. The date to mark on the calendar is Sunday 28 December. For the whole day the heart of the park will be animated by a multitude of street vendors ready to offer products of the highest quality. “ChristmARS”, the artisans’ Christmas in Piazza Santa Maria Novella
Piazza Santa Maria Novella comes alive with “ChristmARS”, the Christmas market organized by the Ars Manualis association in collaboration with Confartigianato Imprese Firenze and with the contribution of the Municipality of Florence. Until January 6, 2026, 18 houses will welcome 20 artisans with their handmade creations. All the info here.
Santo Spirito at the fair
Florence is preparing to relive the magic of its most authentic market with the return of “Santo Spirito in Fiera”. On Saturday 27 December, like every fourth Sunday of the month, Piazza Santo Spirito will be transformed into a lively and colorful open-air stage, welcoming visitors and enthusiasts for the whole day, who can range from crafts to costume jewellery, up to food and wine products. At the Cathedral of the Image in Florence the new immersive exhibition “Frida Khalo – Emotion Exhibition”
From Sunday 7 December 2025 to Sunday 29 March 2026 the Cathedral of the Image of Florence opens its doors to Frida Kahlo – Emotion Exhibition, the exclusive immersive exhibition dedicated to the incredible figure of Frida Kahlo and produced by the Florentine Crossmedia Group. Frida Kahlo – Emotion Exhibition is an immersive experience dedicated to the extraordinary figure of Frida Kahlo, which will allow visitors to immerse themselves in the rich and complex universe of the iconic Mexican artist. Florence on ice: the Christmas village with the Ferris wheel at the Fortezza
In Piazzale Oriana Fallaci, located in the setting of the Fortezza da Basso, it will be the beating heart of the city festivities with the return of the Florence On Ice Village. The event is full of spectacular attractions designed to amaze visitors of all ages. Dominating the scene will be two great classics that promise to offer unique emotions: the longest ice rink in Europe and the imposing Ferris wheel 55 meters high. All the info here.
Christmas at the San Donato Multifunctional Center
Like every year, the most loved event returns: the Christmas Market at the San Donato POlifunctional Centre, open until 6 January, with its characteristic wooden houses that illuminate the square and accompany the Christmas walks of families, students and residents. For the holidays, “Perfect Strangers” by Paolo Genovese returns to the Teatro della Pergola starring Paolo Calabresi
Perfect strangers returns to Torna alla Pergola from 27 December to 4 January. Paolo Genovese signs the first theatrical direction, adapting for the stage his cult film, winner of two David di Donatello and two Nastri d’argento, in the Guinness Book of Records as the film with the most remakes ever in the history of cinema. Paris at the end of the 19th century comes to life in Florence with the “Toulouse-Lautrec” exhibition
Paris, late nineteenth century. It is the era of carefreeness and progress, of art that invades the boulevards, of cafés frequented by painters, writers and dancers, of the first electric lights and the birth of mass society. In this cultural ferment, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864–1901), a unique figure in the European artistic panorama, was born and established himself. Painter, illustrator and graphic innovator, Lautrec was able to capture the nightlife and bohemian spirit of Montmartre Paris with an ironic and profound gaze. Lupine the musical at the Cartiere Carrara Theatre
The curtain opens on a train launched into the night: the legendary Orient Express, headed from Paris to Istanbul. The most feared and fascinating thief in the world is back, and with him a new, bold heist: Ahmed III’s Tulip, a priceless jewel, has vanished from his safe. The theft, this time, doesn’t seem like a simple game of skill. Everything indicates that he is linked to the young Isabelle, a Parisian orphan for whom Lupine feels a rare and sincere feeling, conquered day after day by a light and poetic gesture: a tulip given discreetly. “The Little Prince” at the Puccini Theater in Florence
The Little Prince by Italo Dall’Orto returns to the stage in a new production, full of meaning and beauty, performed by a very young cast. A new Pilot, Leonardo Pesucci, and in the role of the Little Prince the very young Sara Yvonne Woods, accompanied by a little rose – Vittoria Pubblici – and an equally young fox – Viola Motta. Christmas with Alessandro Riccio: the new, hilarious theater show at the Fiesole Theatre
After the enormous success of “The Mechanics of Love” – over 50,000 spectators and infinite reruns – Alessandro Riccio tries his hand at this second episode at the Teatro di Fiesole, giving new life and new adventures to the characters of Orlando and Amapola, played by Riccio himself and Claudia Allodi. The duo is now joined by Omar, the robot with artificial intelligence brought on stage by the very young and talented Vieri Raddi. All the info here.
Empoli City of Christmas 2025: new attractions, the idols of the little ones and 70 market huts to enjoy the holidays in the city
This year too, the magic of Christmas returns to Empoli with “Empoli City of Christmas”, the 11th edition of the great event which will take place until 11 January 2026 in the streets and squares of the historic center (and beyond). Many new features are planned for adults and children. The map of the Giro d’Empoli is filled with many maxi-light installations, attractions, projections and initiatives that will make the center attractive for people coming from all over Italy again this year. Living Nativity Scene for Christmas in Bastia: many figures and two choirs for the event in Ponte a Elsa
The Living Nativity scene returns after a long time for Christmas in Bastia. On Sunday 28 December, in the town of Ponte a Elsa (Empoli), the popular representation of the Nativity will be held. The timeless charm of tradition shines again with the Living Nativity of Santa Brigida, an event that transforms the village into an open-air stage between spirituality, nature and folklore.
