In addition to SIAE, there is another company that brings together several Big names in Italian music under the same house and which, after the stop to music on Facebook and Instagram, is not there: “We will contact both parties to understand how the entire negotiation was conducted”

These are busy hours for the world from the music and not only. The cold shower arrived on March 16 from the group Half the lack of agreement with the SIAE caused discussion. “Unfortunately we were unable to renew our licensing agreement with SIAE – read the Meta press release – The protection of composers’ and artists’ copyrights is an absolute priority for us and for this reason, we will start the procedure to remove the songs of the SIAE repertoire in our music library”. From statements to facts. Impossible (or almost) to find Italian music on Facebook and Instagram. An attempt will be made again to resume the interrupted dialogue, but the road is far from smooth. “We will make our fight count,” thundered a FqMagazine the honorary president of SIAE, Mogol.

This decision has not only affected the artists and songs under the umbrella of SIAE, but also those registered with the other authors’ society sound reefwhich includes Big of music from Laura Pausini to Lastpassing through J-Ax And Takagi & Ketra. Very few songs have remained “unharmed” by the cleaning made by Meta (for example some songs from Ultimo’s latest album, “Alba”), but in fact the entire artistic repertoire of the artists has practically disappeared. Soundreef doesn’t fit and explains how it intends to move: “We know that the take down of the songs by Meta is concerning not only the SIAE repertoire and the Soundreef repertoire shared with it, – reads a note from the company – but also the repertoire entirely managed by Soundreef and the foreign repertoires. It is evident that the outcome of the negotiation between Meta and SIAE is therefore damaging all the collecting societies operating, in Italy and elsewhere”.

Hence the decision to contact “both parties to understand how the entire negotiation was conducted and to work to restore all the songs of which he fully administers the rights on the Meta platforms. It is understood that, should any liability arise with respect to the failure to reach an agreement, Soundreef will assert its rights in relation to and in defense of its repertoire”. A clear and very hard stance.

The repertoire managed by Soundreef includes among others: Sfera Ebbasta, Guè, Noyz Narcos, Gigi D’Alessio, Marco Masini, Enrico Ruggeri, Boomdabash, Fabio Rovazzi, Morgan, Giovanni Allevi, Alejandro Sanz, Pooh, Fabrizio Moro, Paola Turci, Mario Venuti, Takagi & Ketra, Federica Abbate, MACE, Charlie Charles, Shablo, Rkomi, Tedua and Ernia.
