But without Fedez and with the return of Luis Sal, how is Muschio going…

But then, after all this mess, How’s Wild Moss going?? In 2020 it was the most listened to podcast on Spotify, with 773 thousand subscribers to the YouTube channel and 80.4 million overall views. But now that Fedez has left and Luis Sal is back at the helm, how is it going? Let’s do a bit of a recap of the whole story, so that we can see clearly.

It was the January 13, 2020 when Wild Moss made its debut on YouTube. A pre-Covid world very different from how we live today, where the concept of “podcast” had not yet been made so mainstream in Italy. Muschio’s large following always has a positive impact on guests too. For example, Donatella Versace’s Instagram profile registered a increase of +22,660 followers in just three days after his participation.

Muschio quickly rode the wave of success, even reaching Sanremo. But this idyll did not have a happy ending. We all know very well about break between Fedez and Luis Sal, marked by the famous meme phrase “Tell the mom, tell the lawyer.” But then, do you remember what happened? The two no longer led together and Muschio Selvaggio went through a transition phase with before Fedez and Mr. Marra at the helm, and then the final handover of the reins to Luis.

So here we are today. With a statement on Instagram, Fedez announced his final farewell to Musk, leaving the management to his former BFF. Although some recent episodes have also been nice and original, such as the interview with a deepfake of Che Guevara, the numbers collected by the YouTuber, however, have not managed to “deepfake” those – notable – of Fedez.

But let’s make a premisebefore shooting numbers. Views on YouTube are not very accurate. Videos can accumulate views over time, and not everyone watches them immediately upon release. Also because, since it is a podcast, one can watch the episode even a long time later. Now let’s get to the heart of the matter. To make a fair comparison, as also reported by FanPage, let’s consider the last 9 episodes of the Fedez-Mr. era. Marra and the first 9 episodes of the Luis era. The average views for Luis it stands at 422 thousand, thanks however to the first episode, i.e. the comeback which intrigued 900,000 people. For Fedez and Mr. Marra it was almost double: 777,000. The average of “likes” is also significant: 17,807 for Luis versus 27,775 for the Fedez era. The real collapse, however, occurred in the last month, with episodes 154, 155, 156, 157 of Luis which totaled just over 227,000, 258,000, 91,000 and 109,000 views.

Now, are we perhaps social storage experts who know how to best interpret these numbers? Obviously not: there is no doubt that Fedez has a social following and a much more important fame than his former friend, and therefore his podcast was followed by both his fans and his detractors (see episode with Marco Travaglio). Luis Sal rocks on Youtube, but perhaps on his own he arouses less hype, and also manages to attract less intriguing guests.

Obviously Fedez didn’t miss the opportunity percular Luis Sal. A few days ago, the rapper posted a story in which he shows a phone screen which reads: “Muschio Selvaggio must be managed by you (Fedez,) with Luis flop”. Mariuccia’s a bit of a nursery eh, but ok. We like useless dissing. But how did Luis react? The YouTuber from Bologna did not respond to the provocation and, perhaps, he had a good reason to do so: he was at the Taylor Swift concert.

However, Muschio Selvaggio continues to produce content and videos: will Sal manage to reverse course or will he wreck the podcast he fought so hard for?
