When Giulia Ghirlanda and mum Alessandra Novellione of the nicest and most popular couples of this season, take the stage and propose Irisromantic classic by Biagio Antonacci, everyone expects “the bang”. The competitors of the team Iva Zanicchi win over the viewers (and the commentators who follow the show in real time on X, the former Twitter) but leave the juror perplexed Albano Carrisi. And it is precisely the Lion of Cellino San Marco who leaves us perplexed with an admission that is as honest as it is surprising.

“I didn’t know this song”, explains Al Bano to general bewilderment. The song, in fact, was a hit of the 1998 and it is one of the most famous pieces of Italian music of the last 30 years, also thanks to the refrain “how much life are you” which has inevitably been imprinted in the heads and hearts of thousands of lovers.
What alienated the Carrisi juror, perhaps, was the choice of the two competitors to ad hoc modify the text written by the singer-songwriter of Rozzano, on the outskirts of Milan, inserting the names of Giulia and her mother. This, however, in the opinion of many, is not enough to justify the unusual “unpreparedness” of the myth Al Bano.
