“What a joy to duet with Marco Mengoni”

With “La noia” he won the Sanremo Festival and represented Italy at Eurovision: Angelina Mango she is one of the musical protagonists of 2024. «I will carry in my heart the last evening of the experience in Malmö, when I got off the stage, I screamed and ran to hug my manager Marta (Donà, ed.)» she reveals to us. «Now I feel the need to tell everything I have experienced in this period» and she does it with the album “Poké melodrama”, released on May 31st.

«It’s the most coherent project I could do because it reflects my personality which… is crazy!» she says jokingly. «I started working on the songs in the studio together with other collaborators. I’ve always written when I felt the need, it’s a way to put my thoughts in line and understand myself better.”

In the 14 songs he leaves room for personal stories, such as the bond with his brother Filippo in “Edmund and Lucy”: «He taught me to make music and our relationship deserved a song, to be one of the main ingredients of the album. It was a magical collaboration! And then there is the emotional “Indian Row” where «I bring out a bit of resentment linked to the prejudices of my history, there have been many and I have it with people who want to find the rottenness in everything» continues.

In addition to Bresh, Dani Faiv and VillaBanks, in the album he duets with Marco Mengoni: «For me he is almost a “divinity” on an artistic level, but also a sweet and sensitive person. When you meet someone you respect so much, you sometimes feel nervous while with him it’s impossible, he puts you at ease. He is too human and this is the greatest beauty of him.”

In the coming months, Angelina will be busy with festivals and club concerts: «This album gives me the chance to hug people, I’m happy. I will start with the instores and then go around Italy and Europe. I don’t know what to expect from life anymore… all I need is a tour on Mars!”
