DEICIDE continues to drag on wearily |

People have always pointed the finger at some of my favorite bands, saying they all made the same records. THE SodomThe Slayeri Deicide. Anyone who grew up with certain bands has enough arguments to reject such lies, without even having to explain to an ignorant person that Legion is Deicide’s technical album while Once Upon The Cross is the dark and combative one!or that Tapping the Vein is brutal while the previous Better of Dead, not only for the Tank covers, plays entirely on the quotation of classic heavy metal! There is no point in dwelling on the differences between South of Heaven – an article is coming that in a certain sense concerns him – e Divine Intervention. In cases like this we are talking about six years apart and worlds not even parallel. The problem is that I’m forty years old and I’m sick of defending the defensible, much less the indefensible. It’s true, you pain in the ass are right, Deicide does Always the same record and they change only one aspect to disguise the sinister operation. They make it sound significantly different, also because at the console you will no longer find names of the caliber of Jim Morris and Scott Burns, who gave you that impression there. So the subtle differences between one Deicide album and another will be given to those who take turns behind that myriad of levers and buttons. For the rest it is yet another record by a historic group on the gas barrel, who lost inspiration afterwards The Stench of Redemption and wrote the last enjoyable song in 2011by title Conviction. Its the most beautiful video that Deicide could ever make.

Taylor Nordbergguitarist alongside Kevin Quirion, is now also the producer, a sign that there is a little more money left in his pockets. Jack Owen and Ralph Santolla are the remote past, let alone the other two. Taylor Nordberg, I might add, is already a guitarist in the Inhuman Condition by Terry Butler.

The cover is created by the famous American graphic designer Glen Benton with the help of Photoshop and its innovative features that make use ofartificial intelligence. Adds the band leader, a native of the Niagara area, “I have two iMacs, a MacBook Pro and an iPad Pro” – and an ass apple with a bite and a leaf, ed – “so I’m computer savvy and Photoshop savvy and all that stuff”.

No, Glen. My uncle Graziano he has the same stuff as you because he went into the I Gigli shopping center and got carried away, but the most he can do with it is five posts a day on social media in which he changes his profile picture. He’s about your age, Glen. The best profile picture he put up shows him on the sofa with an indoor plant behind his head that looks like the horns of a Faun. He really put it.

Scheffer Computer Graphics Inc. holds cover credit for Legionbut, to the podcast The Brutally DeliciousGlen Benton takes the entire authorship of the work and not just the idea.

We certainly agree on one thing: Legion it was beautiful.

In short, Glen Benton hits the criticism before it even arrives, given that he won’t have gleaned even a tenth of the shit rained down on his Pestilence for that unpopular question. We’ll have to do that review too, in the next few days. What an ass.

Do you seriously want me to tell you what a Deicide record sounds like?

Sever The Tongue And Bury Your Cross…With Your Christ are the singles: the first has some ridiculous choruses in the chorus, the second follows the style of Legion and it’s honestly better. There are twelve tracks for forty minutes of cleanly produced and technically well-executed music, and overall the work never gets off the ground. Mashed potato Faithless it’s cute, while the second part is a bit all indecent. Except for the title track with a bold attack and a supporting riff that is not very distant from that of Conviction. Sometimes slowing down helps Deicide.

The titles are the usual compendium of shamelessness and veiled irony, A Trinity of None, Woke from God, From Unknown Heights you Shall Fall. After Bastard of Christ nothing makes sense anymore, you could retire and clock out at least from that point of view. There is no “beyond”.

A group officially finished over ten years ago, just waste more time on it: there is no melodic vein or temporary solution that can lift them from there. Robetta six politician, yet another piece of American extreme metal history. Do you want me to tell you it’s bad? It is not. But they’re Deicide and they shouldn’t even be breathing to this kind of standard. (Marco Belardi)
