Live Concert May Day 2024
After having lived the unprecedented experience of leading the Concert on May Day 2024 in Romeit’s time to show itself in its most iconic guise: BigMama he performs on the stage of the Circus Maximus, literally sending the audience into raptures. A pleasant medley of some of her most iconic songs, net of “Anger is not enough for you”brought to success in the latest edition of Sanremo Festival.
After BigMama’s splendid performance, another icon of Italian music takes to the stage: Malika Ayane. His unmistakable voice cheers up the great musical marathon of the May Day Concert 2024. Then it’s time to Morgan; a small technical problem with the guitar slows down the beginning of his performance but what attracts attention is the speech he engages in as soon as the song ends. “…Leaving music without legal protectionin the hands of the vulgar ‘shark’ market it is a sign of great backwardness. Not worthy of what Italy should be.” The artist’s thought is commendable but, once concluded, the boos made more noise than the applause. BigMama: “Failing is precious…”
The Concert on May Day 2024 in Rome proceeds at great pace between music and noteworthy messages. The audience goes into a frenzy when he goes on stage Leo Gassman for a medley to be experienced after receiving the Charter of Urbino from Giuseppe Mulazzi. The singer shows up with a cute Pokemon-themed headdress, his chest in plain sight and covered only by a flag for peace. Ex-Otago, a transgender girl’s speech on gender inequality
With a carpet of multi-coloured umbrellas, the Concert on May Day 2024 in Rome it proceeds without further hitches despite bad weather delaying its departure. Emerging voices and seasoned singers pass the baton on the stage set up at the Circus Maximus, all accompanied by the energetic conducting of BigMama together with Ermal Meta and Noemi. Each artist presents himself with his own symbolic phrase, soon also conveyed by the show projected on the stage.
From One thousand to Call me lighthouse, passing through Caffe latte & Giuze who brave the rain to call the Roman public to dance despite the pouring rain. He enchants on stage Lina Simons: “From Pozzuoli to London”, his overwhelming rap with noteworthy themes hits the audience of the May Day 2024 Concert who applauds thunderously like the bad weather on this day dedicated to workers. The Ex-Otago I surprise the audience with a touching and profound discussion on gender inequality in the workplace; a set of necessary and very current words entrusted to the voice of Elisa, a transgender girl. A technical problem blocks the opening
The change of location – Circus Maximus – did not stop the usual appointment with the Concert on May Day 2024 in Rome. Noemi and Ermal Meta they started the show with an introductory speech of historical origin to remember how we arrived at this day over a century later; a constant reminder of the victims of Chicago, many workers who decided to make their voices heard in the name of the rights of an entire category. With their voices in unison, the two hosts recall the spirit of the initiative: “We can only achieve some objectives if we remain united, united in diversity; the spirit on which the European Union of which we are all citizens is founded”.
Once the audience has been greeted as per ritual, the concert struggles to get started; the pouring rain slows down the start of the concert: they should have opened Bloomnew project with protagonist Giusy Ferreri. Several minutes of waiting but the music just doesn’t seem to want to start. Ermal Meta then intervenes and presses the singer with some questions about the new path in order to evade the adverse weather which he seems to really want ruin the 2024 May Day Concert party. BigMama opens in the rain
The concert on May Day 2024 of Rome opens in the rain and with BigMama. While waiting for the hosts Noemi and Ermal Meta to arrive on the stage of the Circus Maximus, it’s up to BigMama to kick off the long concert that will keep the audience company after midnight. With a long dress, the singer already greeted the audience present, thus kicking off the event. “How are you loves? Definitely wet, poor stars, but we like the water” – says the artist, then urging the public to liven up the atmosphere – “Make some noise” he says and then leaves the stage to the artists who have been entrusted with the opening.
Among the artists on stage, too Albe, former student of Amici che gave a romantic atmosphere to the Circus Maximus with his guitar. Just at dawn, before going on stage, he made an appointment with the fans: “You can’t see it but it rains a lot” (update by Stella Dibenedetto).
May 1st 2024 concert: hosts and previews of the event in Rome
The appointment with the May Day Concert. It is the largest free live music event in Europe, born in 1990. The concert, promoted by CGIL, CISL and UIL, is a real musical marathon that begins at 1.15pm, as announced on the official website of the ‘event. It will be hosted by an unprecedented pair of artists from the world of music: Ermal Meta and Noemi. BigMama will open the show (exclusively for Rai Play).
The Concertone on May 1st is organized by iCompany with the artistic direction of Massimo Bonelli and the direction of Fabrizio Guttuso Alaimo. For the first time it will be staged at the Circus Maximus, clearly a Rome, with free entry.
How to follow the concert on May 1st 2024 in Rome live on TV and streaming
But where will the Concert of May 1st 2024 be broadcast in Rome and how can it be followed on TV and streaming? The concert is broadcast live in its entirety by RAI 3, starting from 3.15 pm live on Rai 3 and until 00.15 am (with a break from 7.00 pm to 8.00 pm for the news editions). You can also follow it live on Rai Radio2, on RaiPlay and Rai Italia. It will be a real musical marathon, during which many artists will perform, but there will also be speeches and interventions that focus on social issues.
There lineup of the May Day Concert 2024 features over 10 hours of live music and spoken word. At the moment the release order has not yet been communicated, although we know that BigMama will open the show and close it Geolier. In total there will be around 50 artists taking turns on the stage of the Circus Maximus.

Not just music at the May 1st 2024 concert: “A speech on violence against women”
During the press conference held on Tuesday, Noemi also anticipated that we will talk about hot topics, such as the violence against women. “I believe that violence against women and gender equality are important issues – he announced Naomi, as reported by the Corriere – We are proud of the battles we have won, I remember Virginia Woolf when you couldn’t sign novels written by women.”
