After much speculation, Slipknot have confirmed the identity of their new drummer. The band has in fact posted a new promo photo on its social networks which recalls a famous shot of theirs from 1999. Eight of the new members were tagged and among these the name of the new drummer appeared: Eloy Casagrande. Strangely compared to what they did in the past, Slipknot therefore did not leave the task of finding the identity of their musicians to the public, but declared it openly.

Casagrande, who made his Slipknot debut last week for a last minute show at Pappy + Harriet’s barbecue bar in Pioneertown, California and then at Sick New World, was Sepultura’s drummer for 13 years after Igor Cavalera and Jean Dolabella (he is now been replaced by Greyson Nekrutman) and replaces Jay Weinberg, son of Max Weinberg of the E Street Band fired in recent months for “a creative decision” after 10 years of activity.

However, the anonymity remains around the new keyboard player who replaced Craig Jones, the only one who was not tagged in the photo.
