Metallica, James Hetfield gets a tattoo with Lemmy Kilmister’s ashes (who had them delivered to him in a bullet after his death)

Immediately after the death of Lemmy Kilmisterwhich took place in December 2015, a few days after turning 70, James Hetfield he admitted that “without him there would never have been Metallica”. And today the frontman of the heavy metal band confirmed this belief by getting a tattoo dedicated to the legendary leader and founder of Motorhead. Hetfield has in fact chosen to tattoo the iconic “ace of spades” of the famous song of the British group (which disbanded in 2015, following the death of Kilmister) in the center of the middle finger of his right hand, so that his friend Lemmy «can still giving the middle finger to the world”, as the singer himself wrote on the Instagram profile of Metallica.

Yes, because the tattoo in question was created by his trusted tattoo artist, Corey Miller, using mixed black ink with a pinch of the ashes coming from Kilmister’s cremation and which the deceased musician himself had wanted to be delivered to some friends, including Hetfield, contained in a bullet (also shown in the post). «Shout out to a great friend and source of inspiration, Mr. Lemmy Kilmister. Without him Metallica wouldn’t exist”, we read in the social dedication. Next May 29th Metallica will be at Milan for a tour date in support of the new album “72 Seasons”.
