A week after the interview with “Domenica In”, in which Riccardo Fogli he had hinted that the reason for his exit from Pooh (where he was replaced by Red Canzian) was linked to Patty Pravo, with whom he had fallen madly in love, the divine of Italian song was keen to clarify the issue once and for all. «I had nothing to do with her abandonment», the singer clarified to Silvia Toffanin during the last episode of “Verissimo”. «So it wasn’t you who told him to give up Pooh?”, the presenter asked her. “Do not even mention it. She was very happy, with a wonderful group, who made beautiful pieces. Why should I have told him to leave?” Pravo replied, later hypothesizing that the origin of Fogli’s departure from the group was actually “his desire to be a soloist, so he decided that way. Red Canzian he thanks me every time he sees me, he says “Santa Nicoletta!” because after Riccardo left, he joined the band.”
The love between the singer and the former Pooh bassist was sealed by the Celtic wedding celebrated in Scotland in April 1973, then came the breakup. “We were very good together, we had a lot of fun, but things end,” said the singer, only to later admit that she – at the insistence of her Toffanin who wanted to know the reason for the separation – “I’m not a very faithful girl, it ended because of someone else”. Today, however, Pravo is single, but that’s fine with her. «I don’t have a partner. I like being alone, it’s not a problem.” Also because at the moment her priorities are different: she is in fact preparing a new album which will see the light in September and is planning a summer tour. «Above all, I hope for good health – concluded Divina -.
