Edward Cullen e Bella Swan they marry in the Cullen house and then go on their honeymoon, where they conceive a baby girl. The pregnancy is not welcomed by Edward, who is worried that it could be fatal for Bella: the human wants to keep the baby at all costs, despite the excruciating pain and the risk of dying. But not only that: she and the unborn child are threatened by the werewolves, determined to kill them both.

The wedding, the pregnancy, the transformation into a vampire: this chapter focuses more than others on the character of Bella, played by Kristen Stewart, who dominates the whole scene. She and Edward promised the Volturi that the girl would turn into a vampire: too dangerous for them to have a human knowing the dark secrets of their world.

Edward’s fears were not unfounded: during childbirth, Bella, now exhausted, risks dying from the effort. It is at that moment that Edward tries a desperate move: he bites her, on the heart and other places, to transform her into a vampire and make her immortal.
The girl is dying and the vampire’s attempt doesn’t seem to work: then she opens her eyes, and they are blood red.
