The first images of Ridley Scott’s sequel have been published, the trailer for which is expected very soon
Thanks to Vanity Fair it is finally possible to give a first look at how it will appear on the screen Gladiator 2the sequel to the Oscar-winning film Ridley Scott which will hit theaters in November.
In the images we finally see the protagonists of this sequel, Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascalwho apparently will also be at the center of an epic clash in the classic Roman arena, a duel that will undoubtedly be to the death.

What will Gladiator 2 be about?
The film, an ambitious production shot mostly in Central Europe for the exteriors, will see Paul Mescal in the role of the new protagonist, the now adult Lucius Verusnephew of Commodus (played by Joaquin Phoenix in the original film). Lucius has been living “in the desert” for 15 years and his reappearance will cause quite a stir.

In addition to Mescal, the cast includes Oscar winner Denzel Washington as a former slave who becomes a rich and powerful merchant while Joseph Quinn is the new emperor, Caracalla. Pedro Pascal plays a former military commander forced to enter the arena to fight as a gladiator after disobeying orders. From the original film we find Connie Nielsen and Derek Jacobi in the respective roles of Lucilla, Lucius’ mother, and Senator Gracchus.
While waiting for the trailer, which should arrive together with Deadpool & Wolverine in theaters, Gladiator 2 will be released on November 22, 2024.
