Will Legolas return in the new film?

The official announcement of a new Lord of the Rings obviously has renewed enthusiasm for the franchise. In addition to the second season of the series The Rings of Powerin fact, is also expected for 2026 The Hunt for Gollum directed by Andy Serkisa film in which apparently we could also see Ian McKellen again as Gandalf and… perhaps it won’t be the only big return!

According to what was reported by international sources, another star seems ready to return to Middle-earth: Orlando Bloominterpreter of Legolas in the original trilogy and in that of The Hobbitin fact gave opening signs during the recent Superhero Comic Con 2024 in San Antonio, Texas.

During a panel, the actor who became famous thanks to this first role declared: «I was only 20 when I went to New Zealand for The Lord of the Rings. I turned 21 after a couple of months of filming and inhabiting the headspace of an elf is really fun».

Does this mean that if the call came, he would answer present? There would be no problems whatsoever, considering that Legolas is an immortal elf and his presence would therefore be more than justified, just like that of Gandalf. Recently, too Viggo Mortesen (interpreter of Aragorn) broke his silence on the next film, declaring himself equally ready to return but only if it is the right move for his character.

What do you think about it? You would like to see the three characters again in Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum? Tell us yours, as always, in the comments.
