After the legal vicissitudes experienced by Jonathan Majors – involved in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the role of Kang the Conqueror and now removed from the studio -, it is no mystery that the creative teams at Marvel Studios have gone back to work to review the plot of Avengers 5the highly anticipated ensemble film previously titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
In the last few hours, in fact, important rumors have emerged according to which Kevin Feige and his associates have turned their attention to none other than one of the most beloved characters of the SpiderVerse. We are talking about Miguel O’Hara alias Spider-Man 2099a formidable antagonist in spite of himself in the acclaimed animated film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, arrived on the big screen last year.
According to what was reported in a post on ongoing conversations between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures:
“Miguel’s knowledge and experience with the multiverse (Spider-Verse) would have seen a variant of Kang form aalliance with him. Power for Kang, stability for Miguel. A while ago, I heard that Marvel wanted this alliance, but Sony thought Miguel was a big ask.”
In another post the insider then added:
“While it’s highly likely this won’t happen again (you know why), I hear Miguel O’Hara it’s still on the table and that there’s a big chance he could make a live action debut in the near future with a new team.”
The idea of seeing Miguel O’Hara form an alliance with Kang the Conqueror is certainly suggestive, however it could be discounted due to Sony’s reluctance at the prospect of sharing one of its most popular characters. In the meantime, the whole directorial process seems to have begun again Avengers 5, who, despite the recent rumors about Jordan Peele, seems to have in pole position Shawn Levyrecently working on the MCU with the expected Deadpool & Wolverine.
While waiting for further confirmations or possible denials, we remind you that Avengers 5 is currently expected in theaters for May 1, 2026.
