While Avatar: Fire and Ashes continues to gross, the director James Cameron spoke in a new promotional interview about his relationship with the Alien sagawhich he helped shape with the 1986 masterpiece Aliens: Final Battle.
In addition to having negatively commented on the choices of Alien 3, the director shared his reflections on both new TV series Alien: Planet Earth by Noah Hawleycalling it “pretty good”, and on Fede Alvarez’s new film Alien: Romulus: “I really like some parts of the series. I think it’s a really creative story. It was different than usual. And Fede also did something interesting: in the film, I particularly like the scene where they are without gravity and weight, and they are floating among spheres of alien acid, you know, it’s a rather nightmarish and well done sequence“.
Regarding the famous Alien 5 the Neil Blompampmunfortunately never made, James Cameron revealed that he knew nothing about it, but added that he believed that the director “he would have done something interesting“. Furthermore, regarding a hypothetical new Alien film by James Cameronfans had better rest their hearts: “Yes, no, I will never make another Alien movie. They couldn’t pay me enough money to get me to come back to that franchise.”
On the contrary, we know that James Cameron is working on a new Terminator film, as well as being focused about the fourth and fifth Avatar films. But then, unlike Alien, these two sagas are his very personal creations.
As for the Alien saga, however, they will arrive soon the second season of Alien: Planet Earththe sequel to Alien: Romulus and presumably also the long-awaited one new Alien vs Predator crossover.
Additionally, Sigourney Weaver recently confirmed the existence of a new Alien movie about Ellen Ripley, which is currently being written.
