DC published the first picture official of David Corenswet with the costume of Superman: A debut poster for the film directed by James Gunn, which will debut in theaters on July 11, 2025.
As announced last year, David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan will play Clark Kent and Lois Lane in this one man of steel rebootwhich will kick off the new cinematic universe desired by Gunn to replace the so-called Snyderverse.
The complete photo, which you can see in the tweet below, clarifies several doubts about Superman’s costume, which apparently will include the dreaded red “underpants.” and a logo on the chest that harks back to the Kingdom Come comic book saga.
That’s not all: the wide neckline that we are used to seeing in the Kryptonian costumes will be replaced in this case by a collarwhile what happens in the background gives the idea of a spectacular battle that is about to be fought in the skies of Metropolis.
A new beginning
Initially titled Superman Legacy, the film directed by James Gunn will mark, as mentioned, the beginning of a new cinematic universe which can already boast a roadmap and will bring numerous DC characters to the screen between feature films, television series and animation.
As for Superman, the cast will see the presence, in addition to the aforementioned Corenswet and Brosnahan, also of Nicholas Hoult in the role of Lex Luthor, Nathan Fillion in the role of Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced in the role of Hawkgirl, Milly Alcock in the role of Supergirl and Anthony Carrigan in the role by Metamorpho.
