In the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home we learn that Eddie Brock had in turn been transported to Earth-616 and that when he is brought back to his Universe a fragment of Venom remains in what we know as the main universe of the MCU. To date this presence has not had a sequel in the MCU, but the film Avengers: Secret Wars could finally deal with it.
According to a new rumor shared by https://twitter.com/AlexFromCC/status/1785447199234572691 of The Cosmic Circus, the symbiote left in the MCU will in fact have a role in Avengers: Secret Wars. That’s all we know for now, but where better could Peter wear the black suit than in a movie that shares a name with the comic book series where he first donned it? It remains to be seen whether the Multiverse will mean that Venom’s Tom Hardy will join him.
Of course, if this were confirmed it would be a long wait, given that Avengers: Secret Wars is currently scheduled for 2027. From what emerges online, fans are actually hoping that the symbiote can appear already in Spider-Man 4, whose development work is currently underway. Photo of the set of Venom: The Last Dance have confirmed that the threequel will take place a few moments after Brock’s return to his reality, so some hints could already be inserted in this film.
When will Avengers: Secret Wars be released?
Originally scheduled for 2025, Avengers: Secret Wars was postponed to 2027 due to production delays caused by the Hollywood strikes along with Avengers 5. Both films do not yet have a director. This is the sixth installment of the successful film series Avengers. It should conclude the Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Multiverse Saga.
Fans have long awaited news of a potential live-action adaptation of the iconic comic book series, which sees various Marvel heroes and villains being captured by a cosmic entity known as Beyonderwhere they then collide on a planet called Battleworld. To date, however, there are no certainties about the cast even if increasingly insistent rumors speak of Hugh Jackman And Tobey Maguire again as Wolverine and Spider-Man as leaders of some Avengers factions.
