Netflix, 5 original films that have really disappointed us in the past
Descriptive text here

For years now Netflix offers its subscribers a rich selection of feature films and original TV series, some of which have turned out to be real media sensations, the latest of which is the Baby Reindeer series, starring Richard Gadd. However, not all the products churned out by the streamer have satisfied viewers.

Here are five Netflix movies that disappointed fans in some way. Among them we find death Note, a 2017 live action version of a popular Japanese anime. The criticisms of the film mainly focus on the lack of adherence to the original material and in general little understanding of what is told in the Japanese series. To find out more, read our review of Death Note.

Similar negative feedback from fans also for Bright, a film co-produced and directed by David Ayer from a screenplay by Max Landis, starring Will Smith and Joel Edgerton. Bright turned out to be a real mess that prevented Netflix from making a series of feature films, as was originally planned.
Poor visual effects and stereotyped dialogue certainly didn’t help Ayer’s feature film to be appreciated by viewers. Another failure for the fans was 6 Underground, one of Michael Bay’s last films, known for his ability to make action-packed disaster films but in this case lackluster and confusing, helped only by a lively performance from Ryan Reynolds. Unforgettable, in a negative way, too Rebecca, remake of Hitchcock’s masterpiece, Rebecca, starring Lily James and Armie Hammer. Expectations were clearly sky high but the result was a real flop.

Finally, impossible not to mention American elegy by Ron Howard, one of the few missteps in the career of the director of A Beautiful Mind, penalized by a certain lack of depth in bringing the original material from which the film was inspired to the screen. The only positive note is the Oscar nomination for Glenn Close. Don’t miss our review of American Elegy.
