The best-selling author Neil Gaiman is teaming up with Graphic India for a new original film, which sounds perfect for fans of works like the Sandman TV series or the animated film Coraline.

The project is titled Cinnamonand will be an animated film based on an original story written by Gaiman himself, who also wrote the film’s screenplay together with Indian writer and animation creator Sharad Devarajan (The Legend of Hanuman; Baahubali: The Lost Legends), while the Indian animator Jeevan J. Kang will be the director. Cinnamon’s story is that of a girl with pearly eyes that blind her to the physical world: her destiny takes shape with the appearance of a mysterious talking tiger, who offers to guide her through the wonders and trials of wild nature, for a adventure through a magical kingdom where the border between reality and fantasy is increasingly thin.

Neil Gaiman, author of the recent Netflix TV series Dead Boys Detective, said: “I’m thrilled to collaborate with Sharad Devarajan and his exceptional team on Cinnamon. Sharad’s passion for storytelling and his deep knowledge of Indian culture and mythology make him the perfect partner to bring this story to life. Together, we are making a film that will transport audiences to a world of magic, wonder and eternal truths, a story that celebrates the transformative power of compassion and the resilience of the human spirit. I can’t wait to share this incredible journey with animation fans around the world, old and new”.

For other content, we remind you that the second season of The Sandman, based on Neil Gaiman’s legendary comic, will soon arrive on Netflix.
