We are talking about Steve Rogers aka Captain Americathe famous Stars and Stripes Marvel superhero played on the big screen by actor Chris Evans: the leader of the Avengers during the episode, entitled Bright Eyes, he comes face to face with Rogue, who is still shocked by the deaths of Gambit and Magneto and by the cataclysmic attack on Genosha and who in this episode is looking for the instigators of the attack. The encounter with Captain America doesn’t go particularly well for Roguegiven that Steve tells her that, although he is obviously on the side of the mutants, for the moment his hands are tied and he can’t do much to help her: in response the X-Woman, after insulting him, steals his shield and throws it far away in the mountains.
Furthermore, during the episode, General Ross also appears and the Hulk is mentioned: all these clues that would seem to point in the same direction as the latest rumors that Marvel Studios was involved in the creation of a 90s Marvel animated narrative universe.
In fact, as you know, X-Men 97 is not part of the MCU but, being a Marvel Studios production, it could still be be connected to the great Marvel Multiverseas anticipated by the secret cameo of the Observer, a character from What If, in one of the previous episodes.
