In an exclusive interview with ScreenRant, Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt they talked about theirs The Fall Guyreleased on May 1st and premiering on April 26th in Italian cinemas.
The protagonist duo wanted to compare the relationship between their respective characters to that between Barbie and Ken in Barbiewhere Gosling brought out his inner Ken, comparing the two relationships. If Ken is very similar to Colt, the same cannot be said of the character of Jodie, not exactly as tolerant and kind as Barbie was, according to Blunt:
Ryan: Finally in this film I can really do “beach” and it wasn’t bad I must say. I think my character is in full Ken phase to Jodie’s Barbie phase. So making Barbie was great preparation for this film, as I had to pour out my Ken heart for her.
Emily: Conversely, though, I don’t think Jodie is as nice as Barbie was. Especially in the beginning, she doesn’t have the open heart that Barbie has and she isn’t receptive to her at all.
Ryan: Yes, but he admires her as much as Ken admires Barbie. She is his North Star.
The Fall Guy will have its national premiere on April 26 and then arrive in all the cinemas from May 1. Starring Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, Winston Duke, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Hannah Waddingham and Stephanie Hsu.
