You never get tired of shark movies, right? Here’s another one, which winks at many others that preceded it, and which is an all-female film. Here’s the official trailer and plot of Something in the Water.
Just a few days ago we told you about Under Paristhe French film branded Netflix and played by Bérénice Bejo which imagines the presence of a very hungry shark in the waters of the Seine. Today, as gods shark movie no one ever really has enough, we present to you instead the original trailer of a film called Something in the Water.
Its peculiarity is that of being an all-female film: to direct it, starting from the script by a screenwriter called Cat Clarkea director by name Hayley Easton Street: someone who, yes, is making her debut behind the camera here, but who boasts years and years of experience at the highest levels in terms of visual effects and art direction, having worked on films like many of the Harry Potter, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Sherlock Holmes, King Arthur, X-Men: First Class, Thor: The Dark World, Justice League and many others.
The cast is also made up of only women: Hiftu Quasem, Lauren Lyle, Natalie Mitson, Nicole Rieko Setsuko, and Ellouise Shakespeare-Hart, in the role of a group of friends arriving in the Caribbean for a wedding who, the day before the ceremony, they find themselves in big trouble, and in infested waters, after a boat trip gone wrong.
And, judging by this official trailer, Something in the Water he also finds a way to wink at illustrious titles that preceded him, such as Open Wateror Paradise Beach.
