The film about Ennio Doris grosses half a million euros in three days: “Thanks to the financial promoters”

“In the three days of programming the film Ennio Doris. There is also tomorrow it is the most watched film with a box office record”. The CEO of Mediolanum said this, Massimo Doris, about the film about the life of his father, the founder of the bank who passed away in 2021, at the end of the shareholders’ meeting. The film in theaters for three days – 15, 16 and 17 April – grossed 454,098 euros at the box office with 61,922 paying spectators in over 150 theaters. The calculation excludes the premiere of April 8th and the evening of April 10th for 22,000 bank customers throughout Italy.

“From now on, each theater will decide whether to continue programming”, commented Doris. “We are very satisfied. It was quite a delicate thing. But I had little doubt that it would be successful because we have 4,600 financial advisors promoting it. Furthermore, it is a good film, the actors are good and famous. There are fictionalized parts but that’s the story there”. Also Massimo Ghini, protagonist in the role of Doris, commented on the success of the film: “I confess my surprise, none of us expected it, to find ourselves at the top of the box office, box office champion, just thinking about it makes me breathless. And I have played many biopics, from the young Pope Roncalli to Galeazzo Ciano, perhaps even more than ‘Picchio’ Favino. I had some fears at the beginning about the film’s stability, I hoped about the spectators’ curiosity. A result that goes beyond all expectations.”
