Unlike “Ghostbusters”, here ghosts are only seen in theaters

My goodness, what a debacle. A black mark weekend, with just 3,671,294 euros in cash and, above all, with a drop of 53.6% compared to 2023. And let’s not cling to the heat, because the comparison is over the same period. Even more merciless if you look at the 9,556,515 euros that entered the Italian box office in 2019. It’s the fault of the new releases that didn’t break through. The one who survived, but only partially, is Ghostbusters Glacial Menace (photo, rating 5/6) which tries to keep the saga going, also focusing on the nostalgia effect, with the arrival of some of the survivors of the original film, but ending up forgetting wonder and fun. The film is first with 881,131 euros, well below the previous Ghostbusters: Legacy. Recorded sixth place in the Suga Agust D Tour D-Day concert with 160,258 euros, the successful Gloria debuted in seventh place! (score 7), with 147,332 euros, an excellent directorial debut by Margherita Vicario. The protagonist is Teresa, a mute servant in a female orphanage, directed by Don Perlina (Paolo Rossi, off-screen), who has the gift of a great musical ear. She develops a sort of sisterhood with four other girls, against the backdrop of a concert to prepare for the Pope’s arrival; a sort of Dickensian musical, where the promising young actresses stand out. Ninth position, with 99,315 euros, for the lukewarm And the party continues! (score 6), not the best of Robert Guédiguian’s films. The disappointing Flaminia closes the top ten (score 4), with 78.

220 euros, the directorial debut of the stand up comedian Michela Giraud, who navigates between comedy and melancholy, without ever convincing, apart from the dazzling beginning.
