The synopsis of Kinds of Kindness

Kinds of Kindness is a fairy tale in three acts: a man without choice who tries to take control of his life; a policeman worried that his wife who disappeared at sea has returned and seems like a different person; and a woman determined to find a specific person with a special ability, destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader.

Lanthimos returns to the present

Furthermore, unlike the Greek director’s last two films, Kinds of Kindness will be set in contemporary times.

Kinds of Kindness: Emma Stone unleashed in the new teaser of Lanthimos’ film

Lanthimos had already told the Guardian during a recent interview that the plot of his new film would take place in the present day: “Kind of Kindness has finished filming and we’ve started editing. It’s a contemporary film, set in the United States, it’s three different stories, with four or five actors playing a part in each story, so everyone plays three different parts. It was almost like making three films in one, actually. But it’s great to work with Emma again. It’s much easier to have someone around you who trusts you so much and who you trust so much“.
