In a recent video interview with Vogue, the actress revealed that she herself proposed the idea to her stylist Law Roach, but he wasn’t convinced at first. “He said to me: ‘Are you serious?’. The two managed to get a mockup of the archival design with one of the men who created the look in the ’90s, but weren’t sure it would fit due to the specific proportions of the dress. But according to Zendaya, the latter “it fit like a glove“, a sign that it was “destiny“. However, as the world premiere of the film approached, the star began to have doubts, due to some difficulties related to wearing a metallic dress. Here are the ones:
Immediately after wearing it for 10 minutes or less, I felt very dizzy. Metal conducts and retains heat very quickly and traps it. I’m wearing a full suit, so there’s a barrier and you already have a layer of material on your skin. As the day of the premiere approached, I thought: “It’s a terrible idea. Why did I do it?“. But then I put it on, and I went to the red carpet.
