All episodes of the supernatural series will be available for streaming on Netflix from April 25th.

“An annoying ghost haunts you? Has a demon stolen your best memories? All you have to do is call the Departed Detectives.” It will be available for streaming on April 25th Netflix Dead Boy Detectivesa new TV series part of the universe of The Sandman. This isn’t just because it comes out of the same cult comic as Neil Gaiman from which the hit series is based. Netflix teases that demons, ghosts and characters from those stories, including Death, will return in this new interaction. Below you can appreciate a long preview in official trailer.

The plot and cast of Dead Boy Detectives

Dead Boy Detectives brings to the screens the characters introduced to the public for the first time in the 25th issue of The Sandman. The Departed Detectives are named Edwin Payne (played by George Rexstrew) and Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri, The Lodge), or “the brains” and “the muscles” of the agency of the same name. Teenagers born decades apart who meet in the afterlife, Edwin and Charles are best friends and ghosts… who are in the business of solving mysteries. Together they go on crazy adventures, including escaping evil witches, Hell, and Death itself. With the help of a psychic named Crystal (Kassius Nelson, White Lines) and her friend Niko (Yuyu Kitamura, Expats) manage to solve some of the most complex paranormal cases in the mortal world.

The series could be considered to all intents and purposes a spin-off of The Sandmangiven the presence of Death, played again by Kirby Howell-Baptiste. As Edwin and Charles try to escape her at every step, not wanting to leave the realm of the living, they come across a multitude of other living and dead characters. Random, Briana Cuoco (The flight attendant) plays Jenny Green, Crystal and Niko’s landlady and the owner of the Tongue & Tail butcher shop; Ruth Connell (Supernatural) as Night Nurse, an overburdened Death bureaucrat tasked with ensuring that the young deceased reach their appropriate afterlife; Michael Beach (Dahmer) as Tragic Mick, a walrus turned man who owns a magic shop full of useful things; Jenn Lyon (Claws) of Esther, a witch who holds a grudge against the two protagonists; Lukas Gage (YOU) of Cat King, a charming con man and traveling feline spirit who is very interested in Edwin; David Iacono (Summer in your eyes) of David, a powerful and menacing demon who torments the Deceased Detectives and Crystal; And Caitlin Reilly (Hacks) And Max Jenkins (Dead to Me) of Litty and Kingham, two foul-mouthed goblins who are a nuisance to Edwin and Charles.
