Jagged Edge Productions released the first teaser trailer for Bambi: The Reckoningan upcoming horror film based on Bambi: A Life in the Woods, the public domain children’s novel that inspired Disney’s beloved animated classic.

Directed by Dan Allen and written by Rhys Warrington, Bambi: The Reckoning follows Xana (Roxanne McKee) and her son Benji (Tom Mulheron) who get into a car accident and are quickly hunted by the ferocious killing machine Bambi.

Colloquially known as “The Poohniverse“, because starting with Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, the public domain horror universe is officially called the Twisted Childhood Universe.

The words of the director and producer

“It’s going to be complete carnage. We’re heavily influenced by Freddy Vs Jason and The Avengers,” he explained Rhys Frake-Waterfield of Jagged Edge Productions, who directed the two Winnie the Pooh films, talking about the film that will collect all the monsters from the individual films. “We would love to see a horror film where the bad guys group together and hunt down the survivors. We have some incredible set pieces and sequences in mind that I think will really shock people. The films we are working on now as stand-alones are all built to create a Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble”.

Scott Chambersproducer of Jagged Edge Production, added: “Similar to The Avengers, we will follow Pooh, Tigger, Little Rabbit, Ugh, Piglet, Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, Bambi, the Mad Hatter, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell who join forces to unleash chaos. We are working with a larger budget and are excited about what the future holds. When you see the standalone films, you’ll see Easter eggs that hint at the crossover. Some of the bad guys also won’t see eye to eye and this will allow for carnage within the group in an epic sequence of monsters against monsters.”

A third Winnie the Pooh movie and other Twisted Childhood Universe films are on the way.
