Umbria Jazz, Bob Dylan’s harmonica melts the hearts of the Arena

Umbria Jazz, Bob Dylan’s harmonica melts the hearts of the Arena
Descriptive text here

When, from behind the piano where he remained for almost two hours, he takes up the mouth organ and begins to play, the Arena Santa Giuliana, which up to that moment has remained composed and in religious silence listening to the minstrel, yields to temptation. A wave moves from the audience that arrives under the stage to see him up close, dance, applaud once again Bob Dylan and the five musicians who accompanied him on this ride through folk, blues and rock. But the embrace lasts a moment, the concert is at its epilogue. Dylan passes the piano, gets closer, the time for a greeting then darkness falls on the stage.

Show ended, closing credits on the event performance which opened the mainstage of the fiftieth anniversary of Umbria Jazz. Concert with various limitations, starting with mobile phones, “packaged” in the appropriate cases at the entrance, then no photos, no videos, no one standing, deactivated the big screens. Long queues at the entrances due to controls, but also the large audience that filled the Arena. The voice of Roberto Allen Zimmerman and the notes of the musicians who accompany him stand out against a fiery red stage. “What do you think? Are they good or not?” he asks the audience after breaking the silence of an hour and a quarter of spun music for a “Thank you, very thank you”. He has already embarked on the final part of the set which brings together almost two hours of music and 17 songs. Some great classics are missing that even the less experienced spectator would have liked to hear, but the result does not change. At 82 years old, Bob Dylan donates to Umbria, and Umbria Jazz gave it to himself for his special birthday, a unique moment. The American singer-songwriter had been missing from Perugia for 22 years, a long wait that paid off.
