The legend from Brescia: “The motorbike must remain a motorbike, if we start doing as in Formula 1, it becomes an aeroplane”.

On the subject of the fins in MotoGP, Agostini is also on the same wavelength as Marc Marquez: “The bike must remain a bike, if we start doing as in Formula 1, it becomes an airplane. If it were possible, I would keep my feet on the ground, I would only like a motorbike. The same goes for the electronics, it’s only right that there is a little, but not too much or it takes away a lot from the rider’s ability. In fact, if these controls didn’t exist, today nobody could ride a MotoGP bike. So something is taken away from the rider, even though I know that the world goes on and you have to accept certain things, but without exaggerating”.

New this year will be the sprint race. Agostini was already used to racing twice during the weekend and admits: “I did two categories so I could win twice – he smiles – and good preparation was needed. I don’t know if Saturday’s race can take away the importance of Sunday’s, I’m also thinking of the public, many people work and maybe they’ll miss the opportunity to see the sprint race. I don’t know if the fans will accept this news for good or for bad. They’re also trying in Formula 1, let’s see and then we’ll understand if it’s worth it”.

Agostini has no doubts about the favorite for the new season: “Bagnaia is the man to beat because he’s the world champion and has the number 1, he’s the rider everyone looks to. Pecco did very well in the tests, he was very fast. As a sportsman, I hope that Marquez will arrive with the Honda and Quartararo with the Ducati, because having this trio for motorcycling and for all of us enthusiasts would be a great joy because we will see a great battle that would make us enjoy”.
