The Aler affair linked to Ilaria Salis continues to be a topic of discussion. In recent days, the Lega Giovani of Monza and Brianza has made its voice heard: on Friday, in front of the family home of the MEP of the Alleanza Verdi Sinistra, some members of the group brought a banner that read “Salis abusive, you are the shame of Monza”.

“It is unacceptable – he says Francesca Villacoordinator of the Lega Giovani of Monza and Brianza – that the new MEP Ilaria Salis incites the illegal occupation of public housing in Milan and everywhere. The Lega Giovani firmly condemns these actions that violate the rights of honest and needy citizens by delaying the assignments of years. For this reason, one of our delegations from Brianza also participated in the flash mob (promoted by the Lega Giovani of Milan) on Saturday in front of the house occupied by Salis in Milan. It is intolerable that institutional figures promote illegal behavior and, worse, advocate for it”.
The Aler affair, let us remember, emerged a couple of weeks ago: Aler is claiming a credit of 90 thousand euros from Salis as “compensation” for the alleged occupation of a house in via Giosuè Borsi, in Milan, because in 2008 it had been found inside.
“Yes, I confess, I was a militant in the movement for the right to housing, but Aler never carried out any in-depth checks, nor did it ever start any proceedings against me… Only to then disclose the news on the eve of the European elections,” Salis said a week after her return to Monza after 16 months of detention in Hungary (where she is accused of having attacked neo-Nazis during a demonstration).
The motion in the Region
Last week, the Aler affair linked to Salis also reached the Lombardy Region: in fact, on Wednesday 26 June 2024, the Regional Chamber approved by majority (45 votes in favour, 19 against and 1 abstention) the motion on the “forced recovery of arrears for the occupation of public housing”. The original text had been modified in the first instance in agreement with the Council and subsequently on the basis of two amendments presented by the Lega group and the Lombardia Migliore group and provided for the request for the seizure of the compensation for arrears in the payment of the rent of the public housing in Salis.
