Damned bureaucracy. New chapter in the soap opera between David Nicholas and the Cagliariwho has chosen him to replace Claudio for weeks Ranieri on the rossoblù bench. Not even the official start of the sports season has unblocked the situation between the Piedmontese coach and Empoli, who evidently have not digested his decision to leave the Tuscany.

So much so that the intervention of a third party to settle the matter: Nicola will have to appear (together with Empoli) before some referees, members of a conciliation body, to explain the reasons that certify the request for resolution of his contract still in force with the Tuscan club which, for its part, will support its reasons. One more step that will ratify the end of the relationship between Nicola and Empoli, but which certainly did not please Cagliari, who today Monday 1st July was finally counting on announcing his arrival in Sardinia, and its fans. Which will happen in weekend (probably between Friday and Saturday) after this formal step required by the latest developments in the situation. The two clubs had reached an agreement to include Nicola’s compensation in the negotiations for Sebastiano Lupertobut the slowdown in the deal to bring the Tuscan captain to the rossoblù has complicated the plans of Cagliari and Empoli. They have already found the right balance for their respective benches for days – Nicola in Sardinia, Roberto D’Aversa in his place in blue – but it will take a few more days for the official announcement. To speed things up, however, the Piedmontese technical staff with his second in the lead Simone Barone has already arrived in Assemini to visit the rossoblù sports center: precious days to get to know the facilities and best prepare the work in view of the meeting on Monday 8 July, when Nicola – who, as mentioned, will arrive at the last minute – will begin his new adventure on the Cagliari bench on the field.
