Public Green, Zonari: “Cross-party commitment to environmental challenges”

My mandate as a city councilor is based on the electoral program of the Municipality of Ferrara, which is based on a vision of the city oriented towards achieving climate neutrality. In particular, the citizens who voted for us are opposed to concreting and land consumption and ask for an administration that protects and enhances public greenery.

Public greenery should be understood as an ecosystem service provided to the community and should be recognized as a common good: it reduces the effects of heat waves (which especially affect the elderly and more fragile population), counteracts
flooding, promotes socialization of people in parks, contributes to the increase of biodiversity. Promoting, maintaining and protecting urban and peri-urban greenery is an objective of public interest, and must be pursued in a transversal manner not by one political party or another, nor even to gain visibility.

In a highly polarized political context, even cross-party battles risk being missed opportunities, rather than areas on which to find convergence, for the interest of citizens.

In this specific case, we believe that the urgent interpellation that I presented to the mayor with a request for a decisional self-defense act with an immediate effective clause due to its precautionary and urgent nature, is an instrument that allows, as the law provides, the reassessment of the existing factual and legal situation.

A complicated and tangled situation that dates back to the various administrations that have succeeded each other since the late 80s to today. All the more reason to seek effective solutions across the board.

For 18 years Estense.com offers independent information to its readers and has never accepted public funds so as not to burden even a cent on the shoulders of the community. The work we do has a significant economic cost and private advertising is not always sufficient.
For this reason, we ask those who read us every day and, we hope, appreciate us to give us a small contribution based on their possibilities. Even a small support, multiplied by the tens of thousands of Ferrarese who read us every day, can become fundamental.
