AnconaJuly 1, 2024 – The deadline for submitting expressions of interest in the public tender of the Municipality of Ancona for the registration of a city football team in an amateur championship for the 2024-2025 season expired this morning. The municipal administration announced that the proposals received are partial availability and therefore incomplete and not sufficient to guarantee coverage of both the first team and the youth sector.

The goal is to register the team in Serie D by July 4th and the Municipality will work in the next few hours to evaluate the proposals and understand if it is possible to aggregate them.

In the meantime, the entrepreneur from Campania Francesco Agnello took over the company US Ancona a Tony Tiong he would be working to liquidate debts and to set up a new corporate organization chart. Agnello in a recent note declared «Despite numerous attempts to meet with the city and the Municipality, we have not received any response. This lack of feedback raises serious concerns regarding registration in Serie D, a common success goal for both us and the municipal administration”

The mayor of Ancona, Daniele Silvetti, responded to the accusations by defining the statement «full of technical inaccuracies and with intimidating nuances to say the least. The citizens of Ancona are already clear who is knocking at the door. The city of Ancona demands respect».

Silvetti also reiterated the transparency of the Municipality and compliance with the directives of the FGCI, specifying that he was aware of the content of the letter sent by the FGCI to the US Ancona company in which it requests them to honor specific commitments within a certain deadline.

The Ancona community awaits further developments on the matter, while the future of Ancona Calcio for next season remains uncertain until a more complete evaluation of the partial offers received.
