ROMA A disturbance, arriving from central Europe, will bring, from the early hours of tomorrow, a new worsening of weather conditions in most of the peninsular regions, with precipitation, mainly thunderstorms, in particular in the internal and Adriatic areas of central-southern Italy. Furthermore, a reinforcement of ventilation is expected from the north-western quadrants, with greater effects on Sardinia, Sicily and the extreme southern regions, associated with a general drop in temperatures. Based on the available forecasts, the Civil Protection department in agreement with the regions involved – who are responsible for activating the civil protection systems in the territories concerned – has issued a new warning of adverse weather conditions. The weather phenomena, impacting on the different areas of the country, could determine hydrogeological and hydraulic criticalities which are reported, in a national summary, in the national bulletin of criticalities and alert available on the department website. The warning is expected from the early hours of tomorrow, Tuesday 2 July, strong to stormy north-westerly winds over Sicily, extending to Calabria, in particular the areas of the Sicilian Channel and the Ionian sectors, with storm surges along the exposed coasts. Furthermore, scattered precipitation, mainly showers or thunderstorms, is expected from the early hours of tomorrow in Abruzzo, Molise and Puglia, extending to Campania and Basilicata. The phenomena will be accompanied by heavy showers, frequent electrical activity, local hailstorms and strong gusts of wind. On the basis of the foreseen and ongoing phenomena, it was evaluated for tomorrow, Tuesday 2 July, alert yellow on the Veneto, on part of Tuscany and Umbria, on the entire territory of Abruzzo, Molise, Campania, Puglia, Basificata and on part of the Calabria.
